a championship course for all ages and abilities
The original Oxbow CC Championship Course was designed by acclaimed architect Robert Trent Jones Jr. opened for play in 1975, the course quickly became recognized as one of the premier courses in the area, as well as the country. Over the years, and continuing to this day, Oxbow CC still has the most single digit handicap members of any private club in North Dakota. Beginning in 2015, the course at Oxbow CC began a three year complete relocation and renovation, of which the second phase will finish construction in 2018. Once again, Robert Trent Jones Jr. was brought in to design and oversee the the project, as Oxbow transforms in to a more links style course.
Once play opens on the full new course in 2019, members will again enjoy a Championship course, with the championship tees playing at over 7,400 yards. Today, Oxbow welcomes all levels of players and abilities, and has five different teeing grounds so that all players can enjoy the course, with the forward tees projected to play at 4,800 yards. The new course features concrete cart paths throughout the course, as well as Ohio's Best bunker sand, and beautiful bluegrass and fescues. Many members have compared the new course to Erin Hills, site of the 2017 US Open Championship.
Until we open the full new course in 2019, Oxbow members still enjoy playing 18 holes of golf every day. We are able to use nine holes from the old course until our renovation is complete. Members currently play nine of the new holes, as well as nine of the old holes.
The Practice facilities at Oxbow are some of the best in the region. The main tee driving range features six target greens, as well as a practice bunker. The second practice area features a smaller driving tee, as well as a short game practice area, great for practicing shots from 100 yards and in. Members are also able to practice putting on our 6,000 sq. ft. putting green.
